The only one of the 3 that didn't break when I so far as sniffed in their direction was Big Red. but made of more robust materials I would still reasonably enthusiastic but I'm afraid this experience has put a big downer on Toyworld for me. If I knew that all future designs were going to on par with him. Aside from that he's feels a lot simpler and sturdier (I don't think those 2 things are unrelated). One of 'Cades hands seems to have snapped off either in the box, or as I split the arms away from the legs on the first transformation.Ĭompletely unrepairable as it's right through the hinge. To top it all off I've since opened up my Barricade and Red baron (I got all 3 in the same delivery). It's a real shame as aesthetically it's 100% for me. I think after this experience I won't be continuing with this line. I still have FS04 and the red baron to open and I'm still in for the battleship. Kinda shocking that a supposed die cast part broke like swiss cheese under pretty light pressure. Ironically the one part of Fierce Hot that couldn't flex is the part that snapped. I love the aesthetics of these figures but I've felt since bumblebee that the figures were voyager level complexity crammed into a deluxe size class, which relies on the flexibility of the materials to allow parts to slide over reach other. I spend a good 1/2 an hours trying to ever so gingerly massage back parts past each other and I still snapped the spine like a twigglet while trying to get the head and it's side flaps to fold up and marry with the spine.Ī deeply frustrating experience. I kinda wondered why Hotbreak was renamed to Fierce Hot and I guess I know why now.ĭespite knowing I had to be very careful and that it has reports of breakages. I honestly don't care for the accessories (the BAF is neat, but I don't plan on getting every Toyworld ww2 release, so I have an arm and a leg I can't get rid of).Īll in all, I kinda agree with everyone else on this thread about TW's recent releases: get rid of the uneeded accessories, upscale to mpm scale, and these figures would be really good. Hot Rod is also taller than Barricade, which is weird. The car mode looks nice, but doesn't stay together as well as Barricade. As a result of that, the ab-crunch is actually tight, and I think my hodgepodged attempt at a pin kinda adds to the aesthetic. I tried doing something with the ab-crunch to make the joint tighter, but I had to resort to piece of a paperclip to replace the pin. The figure smelled pretty bad right out of the box, and practically every screw (with the exception of the elbows & knees) were stripped, the joints were very loose before fixing them up with super glue. So my copy of Hot Rod finally arrived, and it's.not great in terms of QC (not as bad as I feared, but still not great).
